Etheridge, Huff top All-Sunset League

David Huff of league champion Edison High and Wes Etheridge of

CIF-Southern Section Division I champion Marina -- both senior

pitchers -- received the top two awards on the 2003 All-Sunset League

Baseball Team.

Huff was named by league coaches as the Sunset’s Most Valuable

Player and Etheridge was selected as Pitcher of the Year.

“Wes had a terrific year,” Marina coach Paul Renfrow said after

Etheridge threw the first seven innings of Marina’s 1-0, eight inning

win over Valley View in the Division I title game on June 7. “He was

just outstanding for us.”

The 14-member First Team included seniors Garrett Young, Eric

Arneson ad Robbie Blauer of Edison, J.J. Valicenti, Daricv Barton and

Jacob Luque, junior Adam Rodriguez and sophomore Justin Sellers of

Marina and junior Nathan Keadle of Huntington Beach.

The Second Team, also consisting of 14 players, included seniors

Matt Cline, Kyle Cornell and J.P. Moreno of Edison, senior Russ

Fulkerson and junior Brooks Walling of Marina and Huntington Beach

junior Colin Balester.
