Hall will host a gigantic church rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4

Old World Restaurant will host Dachshund races, featuring 24

Adult Day Services of
Orange County is holding a patriotic celebration to honor the
American Flag at 3:30 p.m. The nonprofit care center for seniors
challenged with memory loss has a new flagpole thanks to the efforts
of Boy Scout Harrison Brown, troop 106. The center is at the corner
of Indianapolis Avenue and Bushard Street in Huntington Beach.

The annual Kiwanis
Pancake Breakfast will be held at 6 a.m. in Lake Park as a
fund-raising event before the Fourth of July Parade. Head down to
Lake and 11th streets from 6 to 10 a.m. Cost: $5 per person.

The Friends of the Shipley
Nature Center, a volunteer group committed to saving and enhancing
the Shipley Nature Center, will host a restoration day work party
from 9 a.m. to noon at the Shipley Nature Center in Huntington
Central Park. Volunteers will help remove exotic weeds and plant
California-native plants. Friends’ President Stephanie Pacheco will

Campfire Storytime will have s’mores, stories and songs for the
whole family on a summer evening at in the Huntington Beach Central

Pro/Junior Surf Series will be held on the south side of the

The Pier Plaza Art A-Faire
Weekend will run from 10 a.m. to sunset July 12 and 13 at the outdoor Pier Plaza adjacent to the Huntington Beach Pier. The craft
fair features more than 50 vendors selling unique, handmade gifts and
crafts at Pacific Coast Highway at Main Street. Free admission.

CIVIC GROUPS
The Point-to-Point
chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild meets on the fourth
Wednesday of each month (except July and December) at Rodgers Senior
Center at 17th Street and Orange Avenue. Hospitality is at 6:30 p.m.,
followed by a general meeting at 7 p.m. The Guild promotes interest
and provides education in needle arts, particularly needlepoint.
