Donald Wayne January

Donald Wayne January died June 20 from emphysema. He was 75.

Born in Row, Okla., Mr. January moved to Costa Mesa in 1951. He

joined the Army in 1946 and was discharged in 1947. He married Janelle Norrid and raised three daughters.

Mr. January is preceded in death by his wife and six siblings. He

is survived by his sister Rita Riley; his three daughters; four

grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Marilyn A. Heiman

Marilyn A. Heiman of Dana Point died June 17. She was 73.

Mrs. Heiman is a retired teacher.

She is survived by her son Richard Paul; her daughters Laura Anne

Heiman and Carol Elizabeth Heiman-Greene.

Services will be held Thursday, June 26 at Pacific View Memorial

Chapel, 3500 Pacific View Drive in Corona del Mar.

Grover C. Stephens

Grover C. Stephens died June 17.

Mr. Stephens was one of UC Irvine’s founding faculty members. He

was the first chair of the Department of Developmental and Cell

Biology and served a term as dean of the School of Biological

Sciences.

Mr. Stephens is survived by his wife, Ann; sons Peter and Jack;

and two grandchildren.

A visitation is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. today and a funeral

service will be noon Wednesday. Both will take place at Pacific View

Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive in Corona del Mar.
