Vanguard camp upcoming

Vanguard University will host its first summer softball camp, June 23

through 27, from 8:30 to 3 p.m. at the campus softball field.

The five-day camp for girls ages 9-18 is directed by Vanguard

assistant coach Sony Mitchell with the assistance of Lion players.

Morning instruction will feature hitting, baserunning, pitching

and defense.

After lunch, inspirational talks will be followed by games or

game-like situations.

The cost is $175 for one player or $150 per person for groups of

three or more. There are discounts for daughters of Vanguard faculty,

staff and alumni. The fee includes a T-shirt, lunch on campus and an

individual photo.
