Anteaters acclaimed
A total of 22 UC Irvine student-athletes earned Academic All-Big West
Conference honors for the spring sports of men’s and women’s tennis,
men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s track and field and
baseball.
UCI’s honorees are men’s tennis player Wkwesi Williams, women’s
tennis players Tiffany Chang and Amy Tranckino, men’s golfer Mike
Lavery, women’s golfer Channing Lovejoy, men’s track & field athletes
Brandon Bailey, Jules Castano, Viken Jermakian, William King-Lewis,
John Stein, Jon Stewart, Santosh Swamidass, Jeremy Torres and Darrell
Tozier, women’s track and field athletes Erin Curtis, Angela Lotito,
Cathy Picha and Annmarie Turpin, and baseball players Paul French,
Michael Koehler, Phil Tripoli and Gregg Wallis.
Each honoree maintained at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point
average and participated in more than 50% of the team’s competition.
Student-athletes must also reach sophomore standing.
The Anteaters were among 201 Big West Spring honorees, which also
included the sport of softball.
