CdM reaches final, but falls

The Corona del Mar boys under-10 select soccer team advanced to the

league championship game with a 2-0 victory over South Irvine. Nick

Gooding led the way for CdM by scoring both goals.

Emery Molnar, Jack Nowak and Brandon Hoover secured the midfield

with strong ball-handling skills while Nick Rich and Michael Hassman

created several scoring chances as forwards.

Spencer Christoff and Andrew McCormack anchored the defense in

front of goalkeepers Kevin Gordonier and Alex Turney.

Nowak and Molnar scored the goals to lead CdM to a 2-1 triumph

over San Clemente in a quarterfinal matchup.

CdM lost to Aliso Viejo, 3-0, in the section final May 24.
