Condos are not what residents want
I am writing this as a longtime Costa Mesa resident and I am getting
tired of the City Council not seeing what the existing residents
need.
It is not 161 condos and the traffic that will accompany the
residents who will occupy the condos.
How about thinking of the residents who now have to fight the
traffic? I hate to drive down Harbor Boulevard or Newport Boulevard.
The traffic and all of the signals are enough to make you want to
move away. We have some of the worst streets in Orange County, and
our city leaders want to put more traffic on them? It’s not a good
idea.
And please don’t say that I do not see the big picture; I do. Why
doesn’t the City Council have a town hall meeting and really see what
all of the residents of Costa Mesa really want and not what a few
developers and council members want. This is not what the people who
voted them into office want, and I sure hope that the new member of
the council votes the way I am sure that most of the people want him
to vote. I sure hope he listens to the voters and not the developers.
We do not need more condos in this city.
