Vanguard lets one slip away

The Vanguard University baseball team allowed four runs in the bottom
of the ninth inning and lost to Golden State Athletic Conference host
Cal Baptist, 10-9, Wednesday.
The Lions (15-16, 6-6 in the GSAC) went scoreless through the
first six innings and trailed 5-0.
But they rallied and led, 9-6, after 8 1/2 nnings.
Cal Baptist junior Oscar Enriquez, who went 3 for 5 with four
RBIs, smacked a one-out double to the right-center field wall that
brought home the winning run.
Juniors Jonathan Bower and Justin Millward collected three hits
each to lead Vanguard’s 16-hit attack. Cal Baptist improved to 13-17,
5-8.
