Tars duo first-team
* GIRLS SOCCER: Newport Harbor High senior Amy Burlingham and
sophomore teammate Taylor Giacamaro have been named first-team
All-Sea View League by the circuit’s girls soccer coaches.
It’s the third straight first-team recognition for Burlingham, a
Parade All-American last season when she was also named Sea View
Player of the Year. The University of Texas-bound forward was also an
All-CIF honoree as a sophomore and a junior.
Giacamaro, a defender, will be looked upon to help the Sailors
return to the CIF Playoffs after missing the postseason this year.
Taryn Flamson and Erin Hardy represent the Sailors on the second
team.
Flamson, a senior defender bound for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, was
all-league for three straight seasons. She was a first-team performer
as a sophomore and was a second-team choice as a junior.
Hardy, a sophomore defender, was a first-team honoree as a
freshmen.
Aliso Niguel senior Marissa Welliver is the league’s Most Valuable
Player.
