The Storm racked up two victories in Huntington Beach Girls Softball
12-and-under Division play last weekend by blanking the Black
Thunder, 8-0, and outscoring High Voltage, 11-9.
Kelly Cuadras got the pitching win against the Black Thunder in a
game played at Greer Park.
Cuadras was backed by a strong defense led by Jasmine Lopez and
catcher Jenny Pilecki.
Offensively, Ashley McFann picked up a key RBI single and
Christina Kuehn hit a three-run home run.
In holding off High Voltage at Circle View School, Mariah Nogueira
belted a grand slam home run and also tripled, Courtney Reise and
Lindsey Steinbach each had an RBI and Julia Kurpakus laid down a bunt
to trigger one Storm rally.
Mariah Teramura worked behind the plate for Scianna Butler in her
pitching debut. Cuadras relieved Butler in the final inning to get
the save.
