Youth hoops: Jazz rolls in 38-29 win

The Newport Beach Jazz dominated the backboards, and in the end, the
basketball game, posting a 38-29 win over the Trabuco Bulls to win
the National Junior Basketball’s Division 2 series championship.
Zak Maurer-Erickson led all scorers and rebounders with 15 and 12,
respectively, followed closely by Cameron Chase (10 points), Chase
Fredensberg (10 rebounds) and Ryan Rolfes (seven boards).
Every member of the Jazz had at least two rebounds with Dominique
Palmer, Chris Parten and Justin Wilson contributing to the Jazz’ 44
boards.
Guards Jonathan Picarelli and Matt Fisher orchestrated the offense
in a game that featured seven blocked shots (four by Maurer-Erickson
and one each by Palmer, Rolfes and Picarelli).
The Jazz qualifies for the California NJB Sectional Playoffs.
