Bobby Monroe and Brian Delino dominated inside play and Ty Fleming
was scoring from outside Sunday to lead the Laguna Beach boys’
seventh-grade National Junior Basketball team to a 48-43 victory over
Villa Park.
The win was the 12th in 13 games this season and allowed Laguna to
clinch the division championship.
Villa Park entered the game with a 10-2 record and a victory would
have put them in a tie for the league lead with Laguna.
Monroe led Laguna with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Delino
contributed 12 points and three rebounds.
Fleming was hot from outside and finished with 11 points, six of which came on two, three-point baskets.
