‘Lucy Whipple’ next subject of book club

Girls in the fifth through seventh grades are invited to

participate in a discussion of Karen Cushman’s “The Ballad of Lucy

Whipple” at the next meeting of the Mother-Daughter Book Club at the

Newport Beach Central Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 13.

Senior center offering events for women

The OASIS Senior Center in Corona Del Mar is hosting “Ladies’ Day

Out,” including mini-massages, lunch, a fashion show and

presentations about issues affecting seniors.

Admission is $10. The event and begins at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday,
