Denise Swinney of Newport Beach and Chet Spreen of Newport Beach

exchanged wedding vows at the Marriott Hotel and Resort in Newport

Beach on Dec. 31, 2002.

The bride, daughter of Richard and Jody Swinney of Newport Beach,

wore a white satin sleeveless gown with beading on the bust and a

train. Her maid of honor was Michelle Swinney, and her bridesmaids

were Sasha Brauer, Carrie Goode, Julianne Harrison, Emily Little,

Alison Schneider, Suzanne Schneider and Tara Stimbert.

The bridegroom is the son of Greg and Jeannette Spreen of Newport

Beach. His best man was Jeff Spreen, and his groomsmen were Shareef

Bahador, Mark Gaon, Mark Johnston, Matt Norkaitis, Trenton Rhodes,

Kevin Swinney, Trevor Swinney and Dave Thomsen.

The bride is a graduate student, and the groom is a general

manager at Spreen Honda.

After the ceremony, 240 guests attended a reception at the

Marriott Hotel and Resort.

The couple is at home in Newport Beach after a wedding trip to Las

Vegas.

Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Gobdey of Corona del Mar announce the

engagement of their daughter, Vanessa Elizabeth Gobdey of Corona del

Mar to Brian James Hogan of Balboa Island.

The bride-elect graduated from Newport Harbor High and the UC

Santa Barbara.

The future bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hogan of Balboa

Island and Chromo, Colo., graduated from Corona del Mar High and the

University of San Diego.

An April 5 wedding is planned at the Westin Mission Hills Resort

in Rancho Mirage.
