Behind a day for patriots
The Laguna Coastline Pilot went to Laguna Beach High School and asked
students: ‘What does the Laguna Beach Patriot’s Day Parade mean to
you?’
“I’m not a Laguna Beach citizen because I live in Aliso Viejo, but
I’ve watched it on TV and it looks like it brings the community
together.”
ASHLEY KLEIN, 16
“I was in it when I was in fifth grade, it’s a lot of fun when
you’re a kid and people cheer. It brings people together from all
different social classes and is a unifying event.”
JOANNA GOLOFIT, 16
“I’ve lived here my whole life and it seems like it is pretty much
local people and because I think Laguna Beach is a tourist community
-- I think it’s pretty cool. You get to see what everyone is doing
and it’s pretty interesting.”
NATALIE SAND, 16
“It means patriotism I guess -- people who love the country. And
my brother is filming it.”
BRYAN BROWN, 16
