Anteaters take sixth at Bay Area Classic

The UC Irvine women’s golf team finished sixth at the Bay Area
Classic at the Hiddenbrooke Country Club Wednesday.
Tenth-ranked California won the tournament with a 601 followed by
ninth-ranked Washington who shot two rounds of 312 to finish with a
624.
San Francisco placed third (642), Nevada fourth (644) and Oregon
State (648) fifth. The Anteaters finished sixth with a 36-hole total
of 654.
California’s Sarah Huarte shot even par (144) throughout the
tournament to earn medalist honors.
UCI freshman Angela Won shot a 3-over 75 Wednesday to move from
ninth to third place overall with a two-day total of 152. It is the
highest finish of her UCI career.
Sophomore Stella placed 21st with a score of 162 after shooting a
14-over 86 on the final round. Channing Lovejoy and Shelly Raworth
both shot 170 for the tournament to tie for 35th. Sara Huber
withdrew.
