Dorr headed for UCLA

Corona del Mar High senior Artie Dorr, a three-time All-CIF honoree,

said Wednesday he will play for UCLA in the fall. Dorr, who helped

lead the Sea Kings to three CIF Division II titles, said he decided

to play for the Bruins Sunday night.

At UCLA, Dorr will reunite with former teammates Michael March and

Garrett Bowlus. Dorr and March were a part of the Sea Kings’ CIF

Division II title in 2001.

“The (UCLA) water polo program is awesome,” Dorr said.

“Academically, it’s an amazing school. I can’t wait. I’m really

excited.”

Dorr was also sought by UC Santa Barbara, as well as Pepperdine,

USC and Loyola Marymount. Dorr said he will swim for CdM in the

spring.
