Newport wins again
* CLUB ROLLER HOCKEY: The Newport Harbor frosh-soph roller
hockey team ran its record to 10-0-0 with an 11-3 mercy win over
University Sunday.
The game was called in the third period after a slap shot by Rory
Campbell found the back of the net for his third goal to go along
with one assist.
Zach Boston notched his first hat trick of the season with three
goals for first-place Newport. Rhett Palmer tallied two goals and an
assist with Jesus Sotelo scoring one goal with four assists.
Lindsey Taylor and Grant Casserly each collected two points apiece
in the victory.
CdM wins Battle of Bay
* YOUTH ROLLER HOCKEY: Corona del Mar’s Jake Schwartz and Alex
Colvin each scored three goals to spark a 6-1 victory over the Ensign
Hornets in junior high roller hockey action at the Gretzky Center in
Irvine.
Michael Kidushum played strong in goal with Kevin Kottke, Kyle
Riddles, Garrett Florent, Derek Van Grow and Nicholas Mamey giving
steady efforts both offensively and defensively.
