Vanguard tied up
COSTA MESA -- Vanguard University’s softball team pulled out a 1-1
tie in the bottom of the seventh on Jill Jessen’s single, which sent
Celina Camarillo home after opening the inning with a triple against
Cal State Dominguez Hills in nonconference play Friday.
After dropping a 2-0 decision in the first game of the
doubleheader, Vanguard played a game of catch-up from the first
inning when Dominguez Hills broke through with Kim O’Hanian’s RBI
triple, which plated Courtney Woltz. It snapped a 13-inning scoreless
streak for Vanguard over the two games.
Freshman Krystal Keltner went the distance for Vanguard, giving up
six hits, striking out one and walking one.
Vanguard is now 2-1.
