WHAT HAPPENED:
The council approved an ordinance modifying the parking meter
zones and rates.
WHAT IT MEANS:
The ordinance will adding Parking Zone H in the area of Treasure
Island and establish the parking meter rate of $1 per hour
WHAT HAPPENED:
The council adopted recommendations made by the Parking and
Traffic Circulation Committee .
WHAT IT MEANS:
The council will restrict parking on the south side of Hinkle
Place between Terry Road and Rounsevel Terrace; parking meter time
limits on the two meters in front of 238 and 240 Thalia St. will be
converted from two hours to 30 minutes; and staff will ask the
Southern California Auto Club to conduct a traffic calming study
along lower Nyes Place and at Park Avenue and Wendt Terrace.
WHAT HAPPENED:
The council requested a report from the city attorney and city
manager delineating the licensing and insurance requirements for
individuals designing homes in the community.
WHAT IT MEANS:
The City Council wants to remedy a hole in the design review
process that results in homes being built that do not match their
plans. The council asked staff to clarify in the report, the state
parameters regarding licenses for home designers and how the city can
enforce or regulate design review decisions. Also, the report will be
reviewed by the Architect’s Guild before it is submitted to the
council.
