Anteaters succumb

RIVERSIDE -- UC Irvine’s women’s basketball team was unable to

contain sophomore Holly Peterson and paid the price Thursday night in

Big West Conference play as the host Highlanders captured a 75-59

victory.

Peterson scored 24 points and had 10 rebounds to pace the

Highlanders, 5-15, 2-7. Casandra Reeves added 22 points.

Courtney Ferguson (15) and Christina Callaway (10) were the only

Anteaters in double digits as UCI fell to 12-8, 5-4. Ferguson’s

scoring on five three-pointers.
