ON THE AGENDA
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBDIVISIONS
To prevent unimproved parcels from being created by developers and
subdividers and sold to people before the developer or subdivider
makes the required off-site improvements, the public services
department and the city attorney’s office are proposing revisions to
the existing code. This change would require any developer proposing
to subdivide land to complete improvements to the public
right-of-way.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The council will vote on Monday and if it is approved it will get
a second hearing. Staff members have recommended that the council
approve the ordinance.
APPOINTMENTS TO THE PLANNING AND PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSIONS
The council will establish the date and time that it will consider
applicants and make appointments to the Planning and Parks and
Recreation commissions.
There are 17 candidates for Planning Commission, including all
five incumbents, and six candidates for Parks and Recreation,
including three incumbents.
WHAT TO EXPECT
No one is sure how the council will end up doling out seats on the
two city commissions. But everyone is sure the process will be
interesting.
“The process we have is ridiculous -- it’s just totally confusing,
and no one understands it -- and quite frankly, it needs to be
simplified,” Councilman Gary Monahan said.
