Pirates’ men romp, 81-58

COSTA MESA -- Lanier Brown and Matt Hatch combined for 44 points

and Jason Garey added 14 to match Santa Ana’s entire output as the

Orange Coast College Pirates moved the Dons down, 81-58, in an Orange

Empire Conference game at Coast Friday night.

Brown hit all six of his three-point attempts and Garey nailed

four of six, while Hatch simply netted 9 of 13 conventional shots as

the Pirates sizzled.

The key to the game, however, came in the turnovers department as

the Pirates won that battle, 29-15.

Orange Coast improves to 15-9, 4-4 in the OEC. Santa Ana drops to

11-15, 0-8.
