Lightning trio first-team All-Academy League
Sage Hill High seniors Zach Friedrichs, Scott Cho and Cliff
Swanson have been named first-team All-Academy League by the league’s
football coaches.
Friedrichs, a quarterback, Cho, a tight end, and Swanson, a
fullback, are members of the first-team offense after spearheading
the Lightning in its first varsity season.
Friedrichs completed 33 of 90 passes for 467 yards and one
touchdown in three league games.
Cho caught eight passes for 52 yards in league, while Swanson
rushed 23 times for 57 yards and caught four passes for 22 yards in
league play.
Senior Erik Williams tops four Sage Hill players who have earned
second-team recognition. He rushed for 58 yards on 21 carries and
caught 13 passes for 219 yards and one TD in three league contests,
spending time at running back and receiver. He also completed one
pass for 33 yards.
Sage Hill is represented on the second-team defense by junior
cornerback-linebacker Eddie Huang, as well as junior linemen Marcel
Sohl and Peter Haderlein.
Denny Warden (Brethren Christian) is the Offensive Player of the
Year and Eric Schlegel (Capistrano Valley Christian) is the Defensive
Player of the Year.
