Led by Michael Fitzhugh’s 20 points and Kevin Joyce’s 19 points,
Sage Hill won its first basketball game for first-year head coach
Steve Keith, downing Midway Baptist, 59-35, in the La Jolla Small
Schools Tournament at La Jolla Country Day High Wednesday.
Erik Williams chipped in 14 points for the Lightning (1-2).
“I’m not going to the Hall of Fame but it’s definitely nice to get
that first win and we really wanted to play on the winner’s bracket
side,” Keith said. “We jumped on them early and had the game in
control from start to finish.”
Sage Hill led by 13 points at the end of one quarter and led,
34-18, at the half.
The Lightning is at Santa Fe Christian High at 6:15 tonight.
