NOV. 26
* Ledriot Street: A resident called police about two men sitting
under a tree in the back yard in the 300 block at 2:46 p.m. An
officer contacted the men, and they left without incident.
* Temple Terrace: A resident found a gun in the guest room of her
home in the 1000 block at 3:11 p.m. It turned out to be a pellet gun
rigged to look like a real gun.
NOV. 27
* Thalia Street/South Coast Highway: A man was reported standing
in the middle of the street near the intersection at 2:47 a.m. The
officer called a taxi and sent him home.
* Gaviota Drive: A 37-year-old Laguna man was arrested for public
intoxication after he had been reported standing on a porch with his
pants down in the 1200 block at 3:01 p.m.
NOV. 28
* Lagunita Drive: Police responded to a domestic violence call in
the 10 block at 12:23 a.m. The ex-wife allegedly got into the house
through the garage and struck the husband in the face. Officers
served her with an emergency protective order and ordered her a taxi.
* Victoria Beach: A resident climbed over a fence of a house and
started cutting down trees at 11:05 a.m. The officer advised the
person to discontinue and not come back unless they had proof that
they were allowed to trim the trees.
NOV. 29
* Legion/Glenneyre streets: A pedestrian was hit by a car in the
intersection at 5:20 p.m. The Laguna Beach resident had been crossing
the street in the crosswalk when the driver accelerated and knocked
her to the ground. The victim complained of pain in her knee.
SATURDAY
* Thalia Street: A resident reported that two large dogs were
left in a home unattended in the 400 block at 8:33 a.m. When he
walked past the house, one of the dogs jumped against a window, broke
it and started running around the yard. Animal Services responded to
take the loose dogs to the shelter and the fire department boarded up
the broken window.
SUNDAY
* South Coast Highway: Police responded to a commercial burglary
call in the 900 block at 7:16 a.m. Someone gained entry to a storage
space and an office by creating a hole in the wall through an
adjoining storage space. About $1,200 in cash was stolen.
* South Coast Highway: Lifeguards responded to a neck and back
injury at 4:17 p.m. The 13-year-old patient was transported to
Mission Hospital.
* Cypress Street: A resident reported that a man followed her
home in the 400 block at 2:56 p.m. Police responded and conducted an
area search. They were unable to find the suspect.
MONDAY
* Laguna Canyon/Phillips roads: A hit-and-run traffic collision
was reported near the intersection at 8:25 a.m. According to the two
victims, the other driver got out of his car and asked them not to
call police because he didn’t have insurance. He offered to write
them a check for the damage, but they called the police. The suspect
ran away from the scene. The case is under investigation.
* Laguna Canyon Road: Three cars were involved in a traffic
collision near Big Bend at 11:49 a.m. A driver who was unfamiliar
with the area drove into the center lane. An oncoming driver swerved
to avoid a collision, but struck another vehicle. Traffic was down to
one lane until the scene was cleared.
* North Vista de Catalina: A resident complained that her
neighbor tried to cut down her trees in the 10 block at 6:33 p.m.
