TODAY
The Huntington Beach Art Center is hosting an exhibition titled
“They Stood In Line For Hours.” The collection will feature artists
selected from the annual “Centered on the Center” open-call
exhibition in January 2002. It will be on display through Dec. 22.
The gallery is open from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and
Saturday; from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday; and from noon to 4 p.m.

The First Christian Church
of Huntington Beach will present a living Nativity with more than
200 actors. Cars will line up early along 17th Street and Palm
Avenue. The Nativity will open at 6:30 p.m. and continue until 9:30
p.m. through Friday. Guests can park nearby and walk to the event at

The Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce Women of Action will hold
a Toys of Joy mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A donation of $10 and an
unwrapped toy for a child or teen are requested. The event will take

The Golden West College International Symphonic Band, under the
direction of Tom Hernandez, will present “The Many Moods of
Christmas” concert. Enjoy a wonderful holiday concert with sleigh
bells, falling snow and the songs of Christmas. Performances will
take place at 8 p.m. Dec 5 to 7 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 8. Admission is

FRIDAY
The Farmers Market and Craft Fair will take place from 1 p.m. to
dusk at Pier Plaza, at the intersection of Main Street and Pacific
Coast Highway. Merchants will be selling fresh fruits, vegetables,
breads, popcorn and more. Fine art, jewelry, clothing and other
interesting and unique gifts designed and made by local artists will

The Golden West College Student Theater Ensemble will present
“Bottom’s Fantastic Dream,” adapted by Charles Mitchell from “A
Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The production will be at 8 p.m. Dec. 6 and

Admission is free.
SATURDAY
The Edison Community Center will host the Candy Cane Capers, an
entertaining and educational day for children ages 6 to 12 years old.
From 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., children will enjoy crafts, games, a movie
and a visit from Santa Claus at 21377 Magnolia St. Tickets are $15

The Surf City Festival children’s tile murals will be unveiled on
the 5 Points Plaza Patio at 2 p.m. A live performance, holiday
coffees and treats from Java City Cafe and East Coat Bagels will

The Golden West College Swap Meet will take place from 8 a.m. to 3

The Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee will hold the annual
Huntington Harbour Boat Parade. Decorated and lighted boats will wind
their way through the waterways of the harbor starting at 5:15 p.m.

SUNDAY
The International Surfing Museum will hold an open house with the
Huntington Beach Surfing Assn. and the Huntington Beach Longboard
Crew as the guests of honor. A mike will be set up for swapping of
stories from the old days and association President Bruce Gabrielson,

the parking lot near the famous surfing mural from 2 to 5 p.m. at the
