Fairview onramp will close 6 hours Saturday
The California Department of Transportation will close the
Fairview Road onramp to the southbound San Diego Freeway for about
six hours Friday to allow workers to pave a new shoulder for the
onramp.
The ramp will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Motorists who need to get to the San Diego or Costa Mesa freeways
from Fairview Road will be detoured to Sunflower Avenue and Baker
Street, respectively. Detour signs will be posted.
Caltrans officials said the work needs to be done during the day
because it would disturb residents if done at night.
This construction is part of an improvement project from Caltrans
and the Orange County Transportation Authority in the area between
Bear Street and Hyland Avenue on the San Diego Freeway and between
Birch Street and the San Diego Freeway on the Corona del Mar Freeway.
The freeway will be widened and new ramps, bridges and sound walls
will be built.
