UCI has 12 named Academic All-Conference

Thirteen UC Irvine student-athletes from the fall sports have been

selected to the Big West Academic All-Conference Team.

The Anteater honorees include sophomores Jessica Hakim, Chelsea

McCarthy and Julie Scheppele from women’s soccer, senior Scott Bowman

and junior Josh Murad from men’s soccer, senior Jules Castano and

junior Aaron Jacobsen from men’s cross country, and senior Lisa

Massoth, juniors Melinda Fuller, Jenna Keith and Julie Manson, and

sophomores Janelle Del Soldato and Jenny Liou from women’s cross

country.

To be eligible from the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must

maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average, have attained a

sophomore standing academically and competed in at least 50% of their

team’s contests. The Big West Conference honored 156 student-athletes

on the fall team.
