Baseball camp on tap
First-year Newport Harbor High varsity baseball coach Joel Desguin
and the Newport Harbor Baseball Association will host winter baseball
camps in December at Newport Harbor’s varsity baseball field.
The camps are for experienced players ages 11 to 14 and will be
held Dec. 23-24 from 9 a.m. to noon and Dec. 26-27 at the same time.
Skills such as throwing, catching and hitting, along with
strategies will be taught. Campers will play games and awards will be
given each day.
Special guest appearances by major league baseball players are
expected.
Snacks will be provided, but players should bring their own water.
Registration costs $100 for NHBA members and includes a hat and a
T-shirt.
The fee for nonmembers is $115.
One day of camp runs $125 for association members and $140 for
nonmembers. Two or more players registering at a time can receive
discounts of $90 for NHBA members and $120 for nonmembers.
