‘Eaters face Western Michigan

UC Irvine men’s basketball coach Pat Douglass said last week
Western Michigan backed out of playing against the University of
Oklahoma in the Sooner Invitational. There will be no backing out
now.
The Anteaters, who lost to No. 7 Oklahoma Friday, will face
Western Michigan today at 10 a.m. (PST) in a consolation game in the
Sooner Invitational. The Broncos lost their opener to Princeton,
62-59.
Western Michigan, which was picked to finish second in the
Mid-American West Division behind Ball State, was led by forward Mike
Williams, who scored 12 points. Reggie Berry added 11 points, while Anthony Kann contributed 10 rebounds.
“It’s a quick turnaround for us,” Douglass said. “We don’t know
much about Western Michigan, just from what we’ve seen on tape and
(Friday) against Princeton. I know what we did wrong against
Oklahoma.
