struggle to marry the man of her dreams rather than the man her
parents want, will run through Dec. 15 at the Newport Theatre Arts

2Get classical with the sound of singers. The 160-voice Pacific
Chorale will perform works by Mozart and Schubert at 7 p.m. in

3Take a mental day trip. “From the Sierras to Two Harbors,” a
group of plein air paintings, will be on display through Nov. 24 at

4Get jazzed. STOP-GAP, a nonprofit theater company, will present
“Jazzed About STOP-GAP,” a cabaret featuring the music of pianist
Barnaby Finch, at 5:30 p.m. The fund-raiser, which will include a
reception, will be held in Founders Hall, Orange County Performing
Arts Center, 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa. Tickets must be

5What the teachers draw. Art by members of UC Irvine’s faculty
will be on display through Wednesday at the Beall Center for Art and
Technology and University Art Gallery at the university campus,
corner of Campus and University drives. Gallery hours are noon to 5
p.m. Monday through Sunday. On Thursdays the gallery is open until 8
