OCC women seeded third
The Orange Coast College men’s and women’s soccer teams received
details for the 2002 Southern California Regional Playoffs.
The women (19-1-2) are seeded No. 3 and will host No. 14 Glendale
(12-6-2) at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Pirates captured second place in the
Orange Empire Conference and were ranked No. 4 in the last state
coaches poll while the Vaqueros took second in the South Division of
the Western State Conference.
Tuesday’s winner will play either 11th-ranked Palomar or
sixth-ranked Cuyamaca Nov. 23 at a site and time to be determined.
Coast’s men will visit No. 2 San Diego Mesa at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The
Bucs (15-3-4) finished third in the OEC while Mesa (18-1-2) won the
Pacific Coast Conference championship. Mesa edged OCC in early
September, 2-1.
The Pirates would face the winner of Los Angeles Harbor and
Pasadena, Nov. 23.
