Silver Bullets roll doubles
Two goals apiece by Camden Nicholson and Ori Tabak helped the
Silver Bullets to a 4-0 soccer win in the opening round of the
playoffs over the Mooners in Boys under-12 AYSO Region 57.
Koomi Chehabi had an assist on one of Nicholson’s goals and Jamie
Heinecke, Alex Mainthow, Scott Berkhausen, Jarrett Logan and Anthony
Francisco and goalie Connor Benvenuti all played solid.
Midfielders Tommy Bangert, Kevin Corrigan and Jonathan Jaffee kept
the pressure on.
In Boys under-10 action:
* Team USA 3, Green Grenades 0
Three different players scored for Team USA as they shut out the
Green Grenades.
Jack Gorab, Mason Case and Nicholas Molinaro scored on assists
from Michael Dahl, Louis Sheldon and Ryan Gooding.
Blake Allen, Evan Ehrenberg, Clark Cashion and Matthew Larson and
goalie Michael Ayzin were strong defensively.
* Gunners 1, Orange Crush 0
Nick Gooding scored the game’s only goal on a pass from Emery
Molnar in the Gunners’ win of the Boys under-10 American Division
playoffs.
Molnar and Jack Nowak controlled the midfield and showcased strong
ball-handling skills and Spencer Christoff and Nathan Chisholm
sparkled.
Cameron Orr, Colin Beaver and Ryan Durazo steadied the Gunners’
(8-1-1) defense and Tanner Grandstaff and Baron Brown made several
saves to help preserve the shutout.
In Girls under-10 play:
* Storm 5, Beach Blasters 0
Kaylee O’Connor scored three goals and Natasha Daboub and Kaela
Schreck each tallied one goal for the Storm in its shutout victory in
the opening round of the playoffs.
Maddie O’Connor, along with Alexi Kim and Caroline Fleet, secured
the midfield and the defense was anchored by Kimberly Billett and
Michaela Gentosi. The Storm’s offensive attack was also supplied by
Brooke Henderson, Ava Soleimany and Bridget Murphy.
Megan Zwerling, Nikki Waniek and Alannah Connealy provided the
offensive push for the Blasters.
* Hot Tamales 4, Blue Crush 0
The Hot Tamales continued its undefeated season with a shutout win
over the Blue Crush in the first round of playoffs.
Anna Venturini scored three goals and Kayla Schmitt chipped in
another goal for the Hot Tamales with Katie Burke providing offensive
support.
Kelsey Rustigian and Shayna Kerry led the Blue Crush attack.
* Pink Princesses 2, Liberty Girls 0
The Pink Princesses finally broke through a stingy Liberty Girl
defense for the shutout.
Amanda Bastien scored both goals with help from Savannah Thies,
Paulina Leach, and Kellie Langwell and Dana Lowry, Juliette Bioche
and Erinn Holman controlled the midfield.
Allyson Mason, Corinne Damon and Jacqueline Adams stopped the
Liberty Girl attacks and Brooke Braga preserved the shutout in goal.
Samantha Gail, Annika Gerken and Marika Gerken steadied the Liberty
Girl midfield with ball control and speed.
* Legally Pink 2, Purple Panthers 2
Two first-half goals by Legally Pink’s Megan McLaughlin and two
Panther goals in two halves from Sarah Craig equalized the game
between the Purple Panthers and Legally Pink.
Jessica Beyer and Rachel Killian controlled Legally Pink’s net and
Jocelyn Neff, Megan Rucker and Catherine Sullivan patrolled the
Panthers’ net.
Hannah Rome provided solid defensive and midfield play for Legally
Pink.
