Johnstone speaking at CdM baseball event

CORONA DEL MAR -- Jay Johnstone, an outfielder for eight teams
during a 20-year major league career, including the Angels and
Dodgers, will be the featured speaker at the inaugural Corona del Mar
High Baseball Hall of Fame Banquet, Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt
Newporter Hotel.
Johnstone, known for his sense of humor both as a player and a
broadcaster, will be part of the festivities that will include
induction of the program’s first Hall of Fame class, live and silent
memorabilia auctions, dinner, and a presentation of the program’s
stadium project. Tickets priced at $100 are still available by

Ty Harper (Class of 1999), Jeff Pries (Class of ‘81), former major leaguer Matt Keough, as well as the CIF Southern Section championship
teams of 1981 and 1999, will be honored as inaugural inductees into
the Hall of Fame.
