Golf fund-raiser set for Monday
The 10th annual Golf and Gourmet Classic, hosted by SchoolPower
with proceeds benefiting programs in the Laguna Beach Unified School
District, will take place Monday at Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet
Club.
The tournament annually raises $90,000 for various schools and
their programs.
For the past three years the athletic department at Laguna Beach
High has joined forces with SchoolPower.
Twenty-percent of the proceeds from this year’s event will be used
to fund the school’s athletic programs, SchoolPower officials said.
The day’s activities on Monday are breakfast provided by Orange
Inn, lunch hosted by Laguna Village Bistro and a gourmet dinner
prepared by David Wilhelm’s Culinary Adventures for more than 300
golfers and guests.
A silent auction will be held during cocktail hour and a raffle
and live auction presented at dinner.
The top prize this year is an all-inclusive, seven-day golfer’s
vacation to Wales.
The theme for this year’s event is, “Men in Kilts” (women too).
