AAXX marks the spot for Laguna Art Museum’s 20th annual Art
Auction tomorrow night.
“This year, artists have donated some of the most intriguing and
provocative work to date,” said Bolton Colburn, museum director.
Also new for Art Auction XX, the museum will be hosting a virtual
silent auction on e-Bay, where art enthusiasts can peruse and bid on
exclusive works.
More than 200 California artists have donated their work for the
museum’s most significant benefit of the year.
After the auction, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, the public is
invited to purchase any unsold work.
This year’s auction is dedicated to Joan Bedford, who organized
and began teaching art in local schools from the museum’s first
auction 20 years ago.
The auction reception will feature cocktails and heavy hors
d’oeuvres, with the live auction beginning at 7 p.m.
Laguna Art Museum is at 307 Cliff Drive. Advance tickets are $100
and $125 at the door. Member tickets are $75. Funds raised from the
auction go toward the Laguna Art Museum’s Art Education and Childrens
Programs. For more information, call 494-8971 or go to
