Three players shot in the 40s to pace the Corona del Mar High

girls golf team to a 27-stroke victory over Laguna Beach in a Pacific

Coast League match Thursday at the par-35 front nine at Newport Beach

Country Club.

Jackie McCoy (41), Jennifer Woo (45) and Katie Albright (46) paced

the Sea Kings, 7-4, 4-0 in league, to a 235-262 win over Laguna.

Veronica Friedman shot a 51 and Caitlin MacDonald shot 52 to lead

the Sea Kings’ scoring. Andrea Martinez led Laguna with a 45.

CdM Coach Mike Starkweather said the team’s goal going into the

match was a 245.

“It was a good win today,” Starkweather said. “I’m stoked.”

CdM plays away against PCL foe Tesoro Tuesday at Coto de Caza Golf

& Racquet Club and hosts University at NBCC Thursday.
