Huntington Beach blanks Tustin
Led by a strong defensive effort, the Huntington Beach Pee Wee
Gold Chargers posted a shutout victory last Saturday by downing the
Tustin Black Cobras, 6-0, in football action at Edison High.
The game’s lone touchdown came on a run by leading rusher Michael
Bogard.
Keenan Allen, who along with Dan Samarin and Christopher
Halamandaris comprised the rest of the Gold Chargers’ rushing attack,
had a touchdown nullified by penalty.
Kekei Kamai led Huntington Beach in tackles and keyed a defensive
charge led by Chris Voss, Jake Machado, Anthony Buckley, Mike Wise,
Brandon Weiss, Nick Refice, Fernando Valdez, Bogard, Halamandaris and
Allen, who had a key interception.
The Pee Wee Gold Chargers, who improved to 4-2 overall, have a bye
this Saturday and return to action on Oct. 26.

Jullien Herrera reached the end zone three times as the Jr. Pee
Wee Green Chargers routed the visiting Seahawks.
Herrera rushed for three touchdowns and Alec Kirschner rushed for
one behind the blocking of Steven Morgan, Kyle Soscia, Richard
Ballesteros, Ryan Christopher, Nick Miller, Bock Butlett, Joshua
Clay, William Rhoades and Steve Troya.
The running of Todd Smith and Richard Nobella complimented
Huntington Beach’s rushing attack.
Nobella also kicked a field goal and Dillon Petraca ran in an
extra point.
