Diablos flatten Steel Wheels

The Diablos burned the net for seven first-period goals last

weekend and rode that fast start to an eventual 9-3 victory over the

Steel Wheels in a Smythe Division contest.

Troy Loggins led the Diablos with three goals. He was followed by

James Andrews and Luke Loggins, who each scored two goals.

The Diablos’ scoring also consisted of goals by Cameron Berkenkamp

and Zachary Malloy.

Troy Loggins also assisted two other goals and Andrews and Luke

Loggins each had one goal.

Zack Porter recorded 23 saves.

David Abady led the Steel Wheels with a goal and assist, Tyler

Allen and Mo Alasker each scored once and Corey DeMatteo had 22

saves.

In other games:

Thunder 8 Ice Dogs 3

Julien Lux led all scorers with four goals and David Gutierrez,

Kyle Martins, Jacob Gonzales and Jared Neely each scored once to lead

the Thunder.

James Williams and Karly Stark each finished with two assists and

David Marabella had 26 saves.

The Ice Dogs scoring consisted of goals by Dillon Mihalik, D.J.

Mihalik and David Johnson and an assist by Matt Korn.

Sarah Aguayo recorded 26 saves.

Wild 6, Badgers 4

Brett Urabe and Kevin Gast each scored twice, Ian Arnold scored

once with an assist, Devon Martinez scored once and Sean Wing

recorded 28 saves for the Wild.

Austin Heinz posted three goals and an assist, Jordan Conaway

scored a goal and assist and Kevin Christi had 28 saves for the

Badgers.

Slapshots 2, Kings 1

Trevor Dunbar scored both Kings goals, Ian Berrier had an assist

and Kevin Christi finished with 29 saves for the Slapshots.

John Aldinger scored an unassisted goal for the Kings and Brett

Shaver had 30 saves.

Sharks 5, Blitz 2

Zachary Beko scored the first three goals for the Sharks, Eric

Chan and Alec Schartner added third period goals and Andrew Skowron

had 26 saves.

Tyler O’Donnell and Cole Thormodsgaard each scored and Joshua

Mockridge finished with 19 saves for the Blitz.
