Sebastian, a 5-year-old cat named after the crab in the Disney

movie “The Little Mermaid,” is affectionate and prefers being the

only man of the house. He enjoys cuddling up and sleeping in bed and

likes following his owner around the house.

Although Sebastian’s owner will no longer be able to care for him

since her soon-to-be husband has acute cat allergies, the Community

Animal Network is hopeful they will find a new owner.

“Our foster families are truly giving to the community by being

involved,” said DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, founder of the organization.

“Many have used fostering animals as a bar mitzvah project or to get

community service hours in high school, and some families use the

fostering program to convince dad that they can be responsible enough

to have a pet of their own.”

In appreciation of those persons who act as foster families for

needy animals, the organization is ordering new shirts to sell, with

all the proceeds going to the network. The shirts will be red with

yellow letters across the back that read, “Lifesaver.”

“Fostering animals in your home that would otherwise lose their

lives without your intervention is a most incredible feeling to be a

part of,” Pfaff-Martin said. “Now our shirts will tell it all.”
