Westmont silences the Lions with 3-0 shutout
Coming off an emotional win over Azusa Pacific on Saturday, the
Westmont Warriors were able keep the momentum going with a 3-0
victory over visiting Vanguard Tuesday in women’s soccer.
Karin Sulivan put Westmont on the board at the 8:30 mark, and
Kristi Sullivan increased the margin to 2-0 just before halftime.
Vanguard was more aggressive in the second half, but often settled
for playing long ball and taking 20-30-yard shots. Only one of the
Lions’ eight shot attempts came from inside the box.
Westmont improved to 10-1-2, 4-1 in the Golden State Athletic
Conference. Vanguard fell to 5-6-2, 2-3.
