UCI women second at Triton Invitational

LA JOLLA -- The UC Irvine women’s cross country team finished
second at the Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego Saturday.
UCLA won the meet with 57 points, UCI was second with 78. Senior
Amanda Armstrong led UCI, finishing 12th (22:31.8) and Kaleena Yee
came in 23rd (23:05.9).
Lisa Massoth (23:07.8), Veronica Herrera (23:16.6), Julie Manson
(23:25.4), Janelle Del Soldato (23:45.6) and Melinda Fuller (24:00.4)
rounded out UCI’s top seven.
On the men’s side, UCI freshman Ricky Barnes led UCI, finishing
16th in 25:53.0, and fellow freshman Tom Whelan finished 28th
(26:12.8) over 8,000 meters.
UCI senior Travis Morisoli (26:28.5), freshman John Kluve
(26:29.6), sophomore David Santos (26:41.8), freshman C.J. Howard
(26:52.5) and senior Brian Harrison (27:05.8) also contributed in the
Anteaters’ effort.
