Golf classic will benefit SchoolPower

On Nov. 4, SchoolPower will hold its 10th annual Golf and Gourmet
Classic at Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club.
The theme of this year’s fund-raising event is “Men in Kilts”
(Women, too!). The golf tournament traditionally raises $90,000 a
year, which benefits programs in the Laguna Beach Unified School
District.
For the past three years the athletic department at Laguna Beach
High has joined forces with SchoolPower to make the event more
profitable.
Twenty-percent of the event’s proceeds will fund the school’s
athletic programs, SchoolPower officials said.
This year, David Wilhelm’s Culinary Adventures Catering will
prepare a gourmet dinner for more than 300 golfers and guests. A
silent auction will be held during cocktail hour, a raffle and live
auction will be held during dinner.
The top item in this year’s auction is an all-inclusive, seven-day
golfer’s vacation to Wales, event organizers said.
Laguna Village Bistro will host lunch and Orange Inn will provide
breakfast on the day of the big event.
To find out about playing in the tournament or for more
information, contact SchoolPower at (949)-494-6811.
