Edward Lester Smith

No services will be held for Edward Lester Smith, a former Lido

Isle resident. Mr. Smith died Sept. 20. He was 90. Mr. Smith, also

known under the screen name Bruce Edwards, starred in numerous movies

and television shows in the 1940s and 1950s. He and late wife

Virginia wrote the column “Sea Larking” for the Daily Pilot. His

ashes will be scattered at sea. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife,

Edith Joyce Smith, daughter Joyce Martin of Lido Isle, two

grandchildren and stepdaughters Linda Weber, Penny Turk and Nancy

Kamen.
