Newport Beach man arrested after chase
Police arrested a 47-year-old Newport Beach man Tuesday night
after a low-speed pursuit that lasted less than 15 minutes, officials
said. No one was hurt in the incident.
David Bradley Oppedahl had warrants out for four DUI arrests, said
Newport Beach Police Sgt. Steve Shulman.
Police officers tried to stop him near 32nd Street and Balboa
Boulevard at about 7:30 p.m., but Oppedahl did not pull over, he
said.
“He however yielded and we took him into custody at the corner of
Old Newport Boulevard and Industrial [Street],” Shulman said.
Oppedahl was also booked on suspicion of evading the police. His
bail is set at $75,000.
