LAGUNA BEACH COMMUNITY CLINIC GALA FUND-RAISER

The clinic will honor Chief Jim Spreine and Joyce and Marshall

Linn at their annual gala fund-raiser at 7 p.m. at [seven-degrees],

JUMPING FOR JOY

The Laguna Playhouse continues to show “Jumping for Joy,” a new

play by Jon Marans, author of “Old Wicked Songs,” which was a

finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1996. Directed by

Richard Stein, the joyous games of childhood are relived by a man who

has been beckoned home by his sister and father. The show runs

THE LAGUNA BEACH ROTARY GRAND PRIX

The Laguna Beach Rotary Grand Prix will debut with a series of

races, including the UCSF Sanctioned Professional Criterium Bicycle

Race and the Shimano Kid’s Race series. There will also be a

Celebrity Chase that will include Kermit Alexander, former All-Pro

defensive back for the ‘49ers and the L.A. Rams, and Jim Hill, sports

director, CBS Sports. The Nicole Spirit Invitational will launch

young athletes younger than 23 who are auditioning for USA Cycling

and Junior National Championship teams. There will also be a Health

Fitness Merchandise Expo where participants can learn more about

health, blood pressure, cholesterol, body fat and more. The first

race will begin at 7 a.m., the Shimano Kids Race series at 10:25 a.m.

and Celebrity Chase at 11 a.m. The day’s races will take place in

downtown Laguna Beach. The start/finish line is on Forest Avenue.

GIRLS AND BOYS CLUB CELEBRITY EVENT

As part of the Laguna Beach Rotary Grand Prix, the Laguna Beach

Boys and Girls Club will hold a practice session on rules of the road
