Mesa Consolidated considers rate hike
The Mesa Consolidated Water District is inviting comments from the
public regarding a proposed rate increase at its Board of Directors
meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The proposed rates represent an increase of 11.2% or about $3.20
per month for the average residential customer. The proposed rates
would increase revenues from rates by 15.3%.
Early last year, the board engaged in several studies to determine
what is required for meeting customers’ water needs. Based on the
results of these studies, rates will be set at a level necessary to
maintain operations and facilities in a manner that will allow Mesa
to continue to provide high-quality and reliable water to its
customers.
If the rate increase is approved, the new rates will be effective
Oct. 1.
Valet parking changes at John Wayne Airport
Travelers who use the valet parking at John Wayne Airport will now
be able to pick up their cars at the same place they dropped them
off.
The new and improved curbside valet parking is on the upper level
roadway.
Previously, customers dropped off their vehicles at the Thomas F.
Riley Terminal and then had to take a shuttle to a remote lot to pick
up their cars.
JWA officials were concerned about the potential for traffic
congestion with a full service valet. But that concern did not
materialize.
