4th annual craft festival to come to fairgrounds
The annual Craft and Sewing Festival will be held at the Orange
County Fairgrounds from Sept. 5 to Sept. 7. The fairgrounds are at 88
Fair Drive, Costa Mesa.
More than 100 exhibitors are expected to participate in the fourth
annual event, which will feature sewing, quilting, needle-art and
craft products. Visitors can participate in the festival and learn
about supplies, ideas, designs and techniques. There will be
workshops, classes and seminars.
Admission is $8, but discount coupons are available at area
sewing, fabric and craft venues. Times are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each
day.

‘Fortinbras’ auditions coming up at OCC
Auditions for “Fortinbras” will be held Sept. 16-17 at Orange
Coast College’s Drama Lab Theatre, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.
The college’s Theatre Department will hold the auditions from 5:30
to 7 p.m. Sept. 16 and 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 17. Roles include 12 for men
and 8 for women. The play is based on characters that appear in
“Hamlet,” by Shakespeare.
The show will go onstage Nov. 21-24 and Dec. 5-8.

‘Jack and Jill’ climb onto OCC’s schedule
The works of the famously “unknown” playwright Jane Martin --
experts guess the moniker to be a pseudonym -- will be a part of
Orange Coast College’s Repertory Theatre Company this fall.
“Jack and Jill,” a Jane Martin comedy about modern wedlock, will
be staged Sept. 14-15 and Sept. 21-22 at Orange Coast College’s Drama
Lab Studio, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. Show times are 8 p.m.
Saturday, and 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $6 or $7.
