Registration begins for NHBA winter baseball

Winter baseball season is quickly approaching as Newport Harbor
Baseball Association is now accepting registration forms for the
two-month season that begins in mid-September.
League officials will accept registration forms until Sept. 9 for
the 2002 winter baseball season that begins in mid-September and runs
through mid-November.
Youngsters of Newport Beach and Costa Mesa are invited to
participate and new players are welcome in one of three divisions
that include the 9-and 10-year-old Mustang Division, 11-and
12-year-old Bronco Division and the 13-and 14-year-old Pony Division.
Use the player’s age as of July 31, 2003.
Registration cost is $65 and registration forms can be downloaded
from the NHBA Web site at www.newportbaseball.com, or interested
players can pick one up at Sports World, 270 E. 17th St. in Costa
Mesa.
Games are played Sundays and teams practice once a week. Home
games are played in the Newport-Mesa area and away games are played
throughout the county.
